Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of more rains in the coming days due to Cyclone Fengal. Despite the adverse weather conditions, there has been no official announcement regarding school closures in Bengaluru for Thursday.
With the continuous downpour in Bengaluru, many parents have called for schools and colleges to be closed on Thursday. However, as of now, no confirmation has been made by the authorities. The IMD has forecasted that rainfall will persist in Bengaluru and surrounding districts for the next few days due to the ongoing effects of Cyclone Fengal.
While Bengaluru awaits updates, schools in several districts of Karnataka have already been closed due to the heavy rainfall. The IMD’s alerts have affected Mandya, Mysuru, Kolar, Chamarajanagar, and Chikkaballapur, where school holidays were declared earlier this week. «Schools were closed in many districts due to continuous rains in the city,» said a local official. These closures have been in place since Sunday, with school holidays declared on Monday and Tuesday as well.
