The footage reveals a speeding truck en route from Krishnagiri to Salem crashing into another truck on a bridge.
Subsequently, the truck in front collided with another truck ahead of it. The third truck struck a car, causing it to plummet off the bridge.
The car broke into two pieces, with one part falling off the bridge and the other catching fire along with the truck, leading to the devastating accident.
A second car, following closely behind the truck, also sustained damage after colliding with it.
According to a report from The Times of India, the truck laden with paddy experienced a technical issue near the 'S' bend. Officials at the Thoppur toll plaza had previously halted the heavily loaded truck before the ghat section, inspecting its brakes.
One of the trucks involved, which was transporting chemicals, caught fire and tumbled off the S-bend bridge.
The flames spread to one of the cars, resulting in the tragic deaths of four passengers. While locals and other motorists managed to rescue three children from the car, they were unable to save three women and a man.
The deceased victims were identified as J Vimal Kumar (30) from Ariyalur district, his wife Mathi Anushka (22), his aunt Manju (45), and his sister-in-law Jennifer (30).
J Vinoth Kumar (32), a BSNL contract worker in Coimbatore, and his family had traveled to Bengaluru on Tuesday to pick up his brother's wife, who had given birth three months earlier.
