Rishi Sunak is on a roll charming netizens across the world.
A photograph of the British PM’s cute interaction with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the G20 Summit meeting at Delhi has gone viral on social media, leaving many netizens touched at the former’s humility.
In the picture both the political leaders are shown engaging in a cordial conversation, with Sunak sitting on one knee, listening to Hasina with rapt attention.
One X (formerly Twitter) user shared the photo and praised the British PM profusely for his sweet gesture. “Big men don't have ego! Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of UK sat down on the floor to match the comfort — in a tetatete with with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” they wrote.
Another netizen pointed out that even though Sunak was an NRI (non-residential-Indian), he was still well-versed in the culture enough to show respect to his elders, as being deferential to elders is an intrinsic part of Indian culture.
“This talk between Bangla PM Sheikh Hasina and UK PM Rishi Sunak shows that you can live outside Bharat, but you can't remove Bharat from your-self. Respecting elders is a fundamental aspect of Indian society,” he gushed.
Another shared the picture along with the word “Sanskaar” in Hindi.
In Sanskrit, the word means ‘manners’.
An X user from Bangladesh praised Sunak for his humility, calling the gesture a “true political beauty with zero ego.” “A beautiful moment of Bangladesh's PM Sheikh Hasina and UK PM Rishi Sunak! That is called humbleness, the true political beauty with zero ego. That big gesture will make you more bigger,” reads the tweet.
