NCP leader and its National Working Party President Supriya Sule said late on Sunday that even though the NCP MLAs including cousin Ajit Pawar have supported the Shinde-BJP government, they remain close to her because the 'NCP is a family'. «Professional and personal lives are different. In my mind, my brother (Ajit) will always remain as my elder brother and I will continue to have affection for him… Dada (Ajit) is my brother so I will always remain with him and Pawar Sahab (Sharad Pawar) is also my father I will always remain with him.
We both (Ajit and her) are mature enough that we can compartmentalise party and personal relations,» said Supriya Sule in a press conference. Sule wanted to wait for 'the story to unfold' and hinted that the Sharad Pawar faction is hoping that the Ajit Pawar faction comes back to the fold. «It's just 12 hours (since Ajit's rebellion) let it unfold.» Like her cousin Ajit Pawar, Sule was also cagey about how many NCP MLAs were with her father's faction.
«Nobody knows, you will have to give us more time to figure it out. It's just been 12 hours. The story will unfold in two to three days.» Sule refused to speak on what her conversation with her brother was earlier in the day.
She also said that the BJP has to answer on why after it made several allegations of corruption against NCP leaders including Ajit Pawar, they decided to have these leaders support their government. «They called our party the Nationalist Corrupt Party. They have a lot to answer now.» She claimed that the BJP may not have confidence in its ability to come to power and hence has decided to get NCP leaders support.
