Renee Zellweger is set to return as Bridget Jones in the fourth and final film of the popular rom-com franchise. Titled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the movie will premiere on Peacock on February 13.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is adapted from the third novel in Helen Fielding’s Bridget Jones series. This installment shows Bridget in a new phase of her life, balancing motherhood, career and romantic interests. Set years after the events of the previous film, it portrays Bridget as a widowed mother of two young children. She faces the challenges of single parenting with help from her friends and even an old flame, Daniel Cleaver.
The film features many of the original cast members, including Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver and Emma Thompson as Dr. Rawlings. Other familiar faces such as Jim Broadbent, Sarah Solemani and Sally Phillips also return. Newcomers to the series include Leo Woodall, Isla Fisher and Chiwetel Ejiofor, who join the ensemble to bring fresh dynamics to Bridget's life.
