Adam Britton, a well-known crocodile expert from the UK, confessed to raping and killing dogs, a BBC report said. Taking his monstrous conduct to a new low, this naturalist, who has worked with the BBC and National Geographic, would record his obscene behaviour and would post it online.
He told an Australian Court that he had tortured many canines until they died.
Britton, who admitted to 60 charges relating to bestiality and child abuse material, is yet to be sentenced.
In the Northern Territory Supreme Court, the judge presiding over the case advised individuals in the courtroom to exit, as the particulars of his offences were deemed excessively graphic and potentially capable of causing 'nervous shock', according to local reports.
The Prosecutors revealed Britton's 'sadistic sexual interest' in animals. In addition to mistreating his own animals, he had deceived other dog owners into surrendering their pets to him.
Britton would actively seek out individuals who were giving up their pets because of travel or work-related reasons and attempt to gain custody of these animals, according to the prosecutors.
They explained that he employed deceptive tactics, such as fabricating stories or sending old photos to the former owners while pretending to inquire about the well-being of their former pets.
A shipping container outfitted with recording equipment was allegedly used by the individual to mistreat animals, according to statements made in court. This Space was reportedly referred to as the ‘torture room’.
After a video of his actions was discovered by Northern Territory Police in 2022, Britton, a PhD holder in zoology and a Charles Darwin University Academic, was apprehended.
