British man, serving in Israeli army, killed in Hamas assault
Israeli army, was killed in Palestinian Hamas group's unprecedented surprise attack in Israel on Saturday.
Corporal Nathaniel Young, aged 20, originally from London, was listed as a resident of Tel Aviv and was a member of the army's 13th Battalion. Gaby Shalev, also from London, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing the family's grief. She wrote, «Our little brother Nathaniel Young was tragically killed on the Gaza Border yesterday.»
This unfortunate event follows the disappearance of 26-year-old Jake Marlow, who attended the same London school as Nathaniel.
Jake was providing security at a music festival near the Gaza border when he was reported missing. Nathaniel, a former student at JFS Jewish school in Kenton, north London, had been residing in the Bayit Shel Benji lone-soldier house in Raanana, as reported by the Jewish News.
The Facebook post received an outpouring of condolences and expressions of love from friends and well-wishers. One person conveyed their heartfelt condolences and wished the family strength during this difficult time, saying, «Gaby, I’m beyond devastated to read this.
There are no words. May his memory be a blessing. I wish you all a long life and send all the love in the world to you, your siblings, and your mum and dad.» Another person shared their sympathy, saying, «Gaby, I’m so terribly sorry and choked to read this.
