Broadcom acquisition of VMWare is leading to uncertainty and risk amongst enterprises, Nutanix's CEO Rajiv Ramaswami said on Tuesday at the hybrid multicloud computing player's annual .NEXT conference, which is being held in Barcelona.
«We've got to deal with the elephant in the room here,» Ramaswami said while delivering his keynote address. «The Broadcom acquisition (of VMWare) is creating a major storm of uncertainty and risk that you all (industry and clients) have to deal with. I have spoken to you over the last year, many of you, about the challenges and the risks here of navigating a new vendor reality. What I can tell you is that we are here to help you navigate this storm.»
As part of its slew of announcements on Tuesday, Nutanix said it is working jointly with Cisco to certify Cisco UCS blade servers as part of the strategic partnership between Nutanix and Cisco. The company said this new functionality will enable enterprises to repurpose existing deployed servers, including blade servers, to run the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. Nutanix announced new AHV server capabilities, currently under development, to help streamline customer migrations to Nutanix.
