BTS’ Suga aka Min Yoongi is on a roll right now. Despite being in the military, the South Korean rap icon has created box-office history! His concert film ‘SUGA/Agust D Tour D-Day The Movie’ is enjoying a phenomenal run in the US.
According to a Box Office Mojo report, the movie earned a staggering $ 961,015 on the opening day, bested only by the epic sci-fi fantasy film ‘Godzilla vs Kong’, which collected $1,974,152 upon release.
Aside from being highly popular in the US for his rap skills, the fact that Yoongi is the first BTS member to have his concert likely contributed to its spectacular performance at the box-office.
On the home turf too, the concert movie is shattering records left, right, and centre. ‘August D Tour D-Day’ recorded the highest movie reservation rate for a week before its release. Moreover, the special cold cup merch for 'D-Day The Movie' and 'Goods TTT (That’s The Ticket)' sold out like a hot cake within minutes according to an All K-Pop report.
As soon as the news broke out on X, ARMY (BTS fans) couldn’t hold back their enthusiasm. “Just on day 1!!! Let’s go, Yoongi!!!!” wrote an enthusiastic fan. “Almost 1 million in one day on a Wednesday!
