The CM, speaking to the mediapersons at Chikkamagaluru on Sunday, said the central crime branch (CCB) was probing the case, and the persons behind the explosion were still at large, The government, he added, was pursuing the case seriously.
He took exception to the Opposition BJP’s comments that the Congress regime was converting the city from Brand Bengaluru to Bomb Bengaluru. There were four bomb blasts since 2008 when the BJP was in power, the CM said, asking if they could be termed as the failure of the central agencies such as NIA and RAW. The cooker bomb blast and the one in front of the BJP office in Bengaluru occurred when the party was in power, yet, the BJP leaders were trying to politicise the issue, the CM said.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar warned the BJP that it was only trying to hurt itself by seeking to malign the name of Bengaluru. The government, he added, had given the police a free hand.
On Saturday, the CM had said, a bearded man wearing a mask, cap and a spectacle was behind the blast at the café.
It was this man who came by a bus and carried the bag containing the explosive. He left the bag behind after having food, the CM had said.
