As soon as this news broke out, users who had deleted the TikTok application, rushed to Google and Apple app stores to find that their favorite social media application was still unavailable. Meanwhile, some people who were looking to make a quick profit out of the TikTok users' desperation listed devices on popular seller platform eBay with the app purportedly downloaded for as far as $50,000, says a Yahoo Finance report.

TikTok resumed it's operations in the US after Donald Trump promised that the application will stay banned as of now. However, other apps owned by ByteDance, including Lemon8 and CapCut, were also no longer available on the app stores by Apple and Google, surrounding the ban.
TikTok is currently trapped in a legal purgatory, as it has now been given a 75 days relaxation in regards to its ban, thanks to Donald Trump's executive order.
