Ontario Premier has eventually announced that the province is pretty well prepared to significantly retaliate against US President- elect Donald Trump's proposed 25% tariffs on Canadian goods by potentially cutting off energy exports to the US, reported Daily Beast.
According to Daily Beast, in a pretty recent press conference following discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other important provincial leaders, Doug Ford actually emphasized on the fact that Ontario would utilize ‘every tool in our toolbox’ to protect its economy and citizens. He also stated that Ontario supplies electricity to near about 1.5 million US homes which are primarily located in Michigan, Minnesota and New York while halting these exports would be a significant measure if tariffs are enacted.

Doug Ford also expressed his desire to avoid conflict with the US while asserting that the actions from the province would really be a last resort. Daily Beast asserted that Doug Ford actually criticized the tariffs as detrimental while noting that they would ultimately be paid by consumers from US.
