ET gathers that inter-ministerial meetings have been held within the last one week to brainstorm over the action path ahead — for possible restructuring of the national medical school exam.
Top officials from the Education and Health ministries were part of the discussions, besides those from the National Testing Authority (NTA).
The NTA has been asked to draw up a clear action plan and possible templates for shift in the exam format, on the lines of the recommendations made by the High-Level Committee (HLC) set up under the chairmanship of former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan following the 2024 exam paper leak, ET has learnt.
The testing agency has been tasked with making assessments on logistical and infrastructural requirements, creation of additional testing centres and security protocols to enable a NEET UG exam which may be multistage and held over multiple dates.
