Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections News: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has released their fourth and final list of candidates fort he upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, slated to be held on 7 and 17 November. The BJP is looking to usurp the incumbent Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in Chhattisgarh in a bid to seal their 2024 Lok Sabha Elections win. In the final list, the BJP has fielded party leader Rajesh Agarwal from Ambikapur constituency against state Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo.
The party's final list has four candidates including Sushant Shukla from Beltara, Dhaniram Dhivar from Kasdol and Dipesh Sahu from Bemetara. Notably, BJP denied ticket to sitting MLA from Beltara seat Rajnish Singh. The saffron party went for 40-year-old Sushant Shukla, from there.
Shukla, a former member of the state youth commission, is co-incharge of the state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the BJP’s youth wing. The first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will be held on 7 November. The second phase will be held on 17 November.
