Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Election 2024 Winners List: The winners of the Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha election will be announced today as vote counting takes place on Tuesday, June 4. Voting for the 2024 general election in Chhattisgarh concluded on May 7, with the state witnessing a voter turnout of 71.06 percent.
Chhattisgarh has around 20,513,252 eligible voters, including 10.3 million women and 10.1 million men, who are eligible to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The number of voters has increased by 1,514,013 (7.96 percent) since the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and by 120,092 (0.6 percent) since the 2023 state assembly elections.
Among the key constituencies in Chhattisgarh are Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg. Notably, Durg is a significant base for both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
From the Congress, four candidates hail from Durg: former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel (Rajnandgaon), Devendra Yadav (Bilaspur), Tamradhwaj Sahu (Mahasamund), and Rajendra Sahu (Durg). Bhupesh Baghel currently serves as the MLA for the Patan assembly seat in Durg, while Devendra Yadav holds the Bhilai Nagar assembly seat. Tamradhwaj Sahu, a former home minister in the previous Congress government, had previously contested and lost the assembly polls from Durg Rural.
On the BJP side, Vijay Baghel and Saroj Pandey, both originally from Durg, are the candidates for the Durg and Korba Lok Sabha seats, respectively. Vijay Baghel is the current MP for Durg, a seat once held by Saroj Pandey from 2009 to 2014.
