The latest version of DeepSeek, launched in January, is already being integrated into the operations of some of China’s largest ports. These AI-powered solutions are streamlining various functions, reducing human workload and strengthening security in supply chain management.
Ningbo-Zhoushan, the world’s third-largest container port, has started incorporating DeepSeek into its intelligent gate and customer service systems. This technology is improving efficiency by automating key processes, such as container verification.
The new AI-powered gate system can recognise over 80 per cent of containers’ unique seal numbers, drastically cutting down on the time required for manual inspections. Previously, four staff members were needed for container checks, but with DeepSeek, a single worker can now handle the same task.
DeepSeek is also improving customer service processes. Zhoushan Port is currently testing AI-powered customer support, which is expected to launch in the first half of the year.
