Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that equating Lord Krishna and Rukmini’s relationship as Love Jihad by Assam Pradesh Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah is unfortunate and the government will take action against Borah if a complaint against him is filed. Sarma observed that Congress leaders will see a time when except Mosque or Madrassa they won’t find a place to stay. Sarma announced fresh drive against child marriage will start soon.
Sarma said, “This is anti-Hindu and anti Sanatani remark by Borah. Like we do not bring Prophet Mohammad and Jesus Christ in any controversy, we must not bring Lord Krishna. What is love Jihad, when a girl is married and forced to get converted, that is Love Jihad.” He said, “Krishna never converted Rukmini.
Anyone who has made this observation if there is a complaint filed against the person we have to arrest him. This is wrong. If you bring Lord Krishna to controversy, thousands of Santani people will lodge complaint in the police station.
How can I save that person?” He said, “If Hindu boy marries Hindu girl and Muslim boy marries Muslim there will be peace in the country. One who has grown up doing Kali and Durga puja if asked to offer Namaz will feel bad similarly the person offering Namaaz if asked to do puja will feel bad. So far possible one must marry within own religion.
If one marries in another religion one must not force others to get converted. There is a special marriage Act for this.” He added, “When one does not obey this law and crosses the limit then there is Love Jihad. We have seen what happened in Golaghat recently.
