Congress wanted to allocate 15 per cent of the budget for Muslims.
«The Congress government had openly said that Muslims have the first right on the country's resources. I was present in the meeting in which (former PM) Dr Manmohan Singh said this and I had raised my objection. Congress and its allies even wanted to allocate separate budgets for Hindus and Muslims. Congress wanted to allocate 15 per cent of the budget for Muslims,» said PM Modi.
While addressing a rally in India's financial captial, the Prime Minister alleged that he was exposing the Congress and INDI alliance's plans to divide people on the basis of religion, and to him the country's unity was more important than his own image.
«The INDI alliance and the „Congress' shehzade“ (apparent reference to Rahul Gandhi) were doing politics over religion, and Karnataka was their laboratory, Modi said. Muslims in Karnataka were included in the OBC quota overnight, and Congress planned to implement this in the rest of the country,» PM Modi said.
