Conor McGregor may take on UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards as both fighters pondering over a blockbuster fight later in 2024, as per a report on CBS sports. Edwards will fight Belal Muhammad for welterweight title at UFC 304 which is scheduled to take place in Manchester on July 27. Meanwhile, McGregor will fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29 in the International Fight Week. McGregor has been out of action since July 2021.

McGregor and Edwards' fight promises excitement for several reasons: it features a welterweight title on the line, showcases a compelling England versus Ireland rivalry, and comes at a time when the welterweight division lacks high-profile title contenders, as the CBS Sports report.
