Damien Bendall due to a series of «very stark» negligence by the Probation Service.
According to the details, the four victims of this murder were a mother and three children. The information revealed that the deceased, Terri Harris, aged 35, her son John Bennett, aged 13, her daughter Lacey Bennett, aged 11, and Connie Gent, aged 11, were attacked with a claw hammer in Killamarsh, Derbyshire, by Bendall.
Apart from the murder, Bendall also committed the heinous crime of raping Lacey.
Senior coroner Nieto officially documented that the deaths of Harris, who was pregnant, her children, and their friend Connie, were the result of unlawful killings.
Nieto also added that the deaths of all four people were «contributed to by acts or omissions.» Following a judicial inquiry, the family of the deceased called for «decisive action.»
According to the inquiries conducted at the Chesterfield Coroner's Court, all four victims were killed unlawfully. Senior coroner Peter Nieto pointed out that although the prime accused in the case, Bendall, was mainly responsible for the 'brutal and savage' murders, the Probation Service, along with certain individuals, was also involved in «a number of very serious actions or oversights» that ultimately contributed to the tragic deaths.
On Monday, the judicial inquiry of the cases concluded and presented a number of testimonies over a two-week period explaining how the accused was evaluated by probation officers who were already experiencing stress, lack of experience, and being overburdened.
