James Gunn showcased the first trailer for the animated series «Creature Commandos» during San Diego Comic-Con. The series will premiere in December. The announcement comes as part of Gunn's efforts to reboot the DC Universe.
«Creature Commandos» was first announced in January 2023 with a seven-episode order for Max, all written by Gunn. The series revives the 1980 comic book characters, a team of military superhumans. The original story features Frankenstein's monster, a werewolf, a vampire, and a gorgon fighting Nazis in World War II. Gunn's version includes Weasel from «The Suicide Squad» (2021) and Rick Flag Sr. as new members of the team.

The voice cast includes David Harbour, Indira Varma, Alan Tudyk, Maria Bakalova, Zoe Chao, and Steve Agee. Varma voices the Bride of Frankenstein, Grillo voices Rick Flag Sr., Harbour voices Eric Frankenstein, Chao voices Nina Mazursky, Sean Gunn voices G.I. Robot, and Tudyk voices Doctor
