Dahi Handi History
According to Hindu Scriptures, Lord Krishna's love for Makkhan (butter) and Dahi (curd) led him to playful thievery in his childhood. He would not only pilfer from his own home but also from the neighbors.
Annoyed villagers eventually approached Yashoda Mata, Krishna's mother, to seek a solution. Yashoda Maiya's ingenious advice was to hang earthen pots filled with these delights at an unreachable height for young Kanha. Following her guidance, villagers started suspending pots out of Krishna's reach.
