Guwahati: Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), the fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan is targeting a turnover of Rs 100 Crore from Northeast India in next fiscal year.
The company has come with a new office in Guwahati. Kuldeepak Virmani, Senior Vice President & Executive Director, Daikin India who was in Guwahati on Thursday said, “We are doing turnover of Rs 50 Crore this year and we have target of making it to Rs 100 Crore in Northeast India. We see Northeast India as a potential market for Daikin, so we will continue to invest in developing the market with a view to secure market share”.
He added, “There is robust growth in demand in Northeast India. Here we have market share of 15 percent and across India we have market share of 20 percent. With India demonstrating a robust upward growth & business trajectory, we have plans to get aggressive in our approach across Assam and the New Daikin Office is a key step towards strengthening Daikin’s endeavour to capture significant market share.

The AC penetration nationally is seven percent while here in Assam it is just 3 percent. He said, " We are expecting a good summer season this year."
He said that Daikin has grown over 40% in East India this year and is expected to touch Rs 1000 crore this Financial Year.
He added, “With robust infrastructure & housing development, we are witnessing a high demand for smart & energy efficient air-conditioning solutions.
