Concealed Devices Uncovered
The woman had hidden the iPhones, each wrapped in tissue paper, in her vanity bag. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is the top-tier model in the iPhone 16 series, which has generated significant demand since its launch.
Smuggling Attempt Foiled
Customs authorities, acting on intelligence inputs, intercepted the passenger upon her arrival at the airport. According to officials, the phones are valued at over Rs 37 lakh. Investigations into the smuggling attempt are ongoing.
Delivery Man Killed During iPhone Delivery
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old delivery man was killed while delivering an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh to a customer who had opted for cash on delivery. The customer and his accomplice allegedly murdered the delivery man and disposed of his body in Lucknow's Indira Canal.
Delivery Gone Wrong
The incident occurred when Bharat Sahu, a delivery man from Nishatganj, went to deliver the iPhone to Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shashank Singh stated that Gajanan had ordered the phone through Flipkart and selected the cash on delivery option.
