Holi, which falls on March 25, 2024, will commence from 2:30 PM, announced officials on Friday.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that no services will be available until 2:30 PM on all lines, including the Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line, but will resume thereafter as usual.
The Delhi Metro, India's largest rapid transit system, connects the national capital region with its satellite cities. Managed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, a public sector company jointly established by the Indian and Delhi governments in May 1995, it plays a crucial role in the region's transportation network.
In anticipation of the festive season, Indian Railways has introduced 540 additional train services to accommodate the surge in passenger demand. These trains will run on key routes like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, and others, connecting major destinations across the country.
When is Holi celebrated?
Holi, celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Phalgun, signifies the arrival of spring. This year, it will be celebrated on March 25, 2024, which falls on a Monday.
In other news, the DMRC has also announced that the ITO Metro station will remain closed from 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM on Friday, March 22, in light of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's arrest in a Liquor Scam Case on the advice of Delhi Police.
