Mumbai, an orange alert has been issued in the city today and a yellow alert tomorrow i.e. on 7 July.
As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, orange alert has also been issued in Palghar, Thane, Sindhudurg, Nasik, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Amravati, Wardha and Yavatmal for today. A yellow alert has been issued in Washim, Nagpur, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Buldana, Bhandara, Akola, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurganabad, Ahmednagar, Jalgoan, Nandurbar, Dhule for today.
Meanwhile, in Kerala, IMD has issued an orange alert for six districts today. As per IMD, an orange alert of heavy to very heavy monsoon rains is likely to occur in Idukki, Malapurram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragode today.
Earlier on Wednesday, heavy rains uprooted huge trees in several parts of the state, leading to houses and vehicles being damaged, power lines being brought down and traffic movement being blocked for hours due to the fallen trees.
