On Sunday, the overall air quality in NCR was recorded in the 'Very Poor' category, data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR)-India showed.
The AQI in Delhi was at 309 on Sunday morning.
As per SAFAR-India, the air quality around Delhi University was at 341 (Very Poor) in the morning hours while in IIT area it was at 300. Similarly, in Lodhi Road area it was recorded at 262 in the 'Poor' category.
The Met department forecasted that «predominant surface wind is likely from variable directions in Delhi with wind speed 04-08 kmph, resulting in mainly clear sky and mist in the morning on October 29».
Noida witnessed an AQI of 317 (Very Poor) and Gurgaon 221 (Poor).
Meanwhile, the overall air quality in Mumbai remains in the 'Moderate' category.
On Sunday morning, Mumbai's average AQI was recorded at 139.
The air quality in the Worli area was 'Satisfactory' with a reading of 75. The AQI in Navi Mumbai was recorded at 139 (Moderate) while that in Andheri was at 104, and in Mazagaon was recorded at 192, also in the 'Moderate' category.
Pune had an AQI of 156 (Moderate).
