Devara’ creates history before release; Jr NTR’s comeback film sees strong US advance bookings
Tollywood gearing up for its next Rs 1,000 crore grosser after Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’? If the toral craze over Jr NTR’s upcoming action drama ‘Devara’ is to be believed, the movie can become one of the biggest blockbusters of this year. Scheduled for release on September 27, Devara has already sparked considerable excitement, as shown by its remarkable pre-sales figures.
As reported by Sacnilk, even with four weeks to go before its debut, the film has amassed a $100K gross in the USA from a select number of screenings, with some premiere showings already reaching full capacity. This early momentum suggests that Devara might set a new record for NTR's solo premiere in North America.
According to a report by Koimoi.com, ‘Devara’ has already sold nearly 2,407 tickets across just 19 locations, with multiple shows selling out within three hours of the advance booking launch on its premiere day! Currently, bookings are available for 52 shows. The movie has achieved a pre-sale total of $75K in the USA within those three hours, which is roughly equivalent to 63 lakh INR. To put it into perspective, the film is earning nearly 35K INR per minute in the USA!

Helmd by Koratala Siva, ‘Devara’ is an upcoming Telugu action drama starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The movie marks Jr NTR’s comeback venture. It also marks Kapoor’s Tollywood debut.
The movie was earlier titled ‘NTR30’ as it marked the 30th film of the ‘RRR’ star. The film will feature the star in dual roles, as Devara and Vara.
