Dhanush has a busy movie calendar with a number of movies lined up. On his 40th birthday, the South superstar released the teaser of his upcoming movie 'Captain Miller' with more than 11.5 million followers on Twitter on Friday. The teaser shows the two-time National Award-winning actor in action as he essays the titular role of Miller aka Analeesan.
Set for a December 15 theatrical release, the Tamil film will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, who has previously helmed films such as 'Rocky' and 'Saani Kaayidham', and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Dhanush's fandom got the teaser more than five million real-time views in just nine hours. The production banner shared the update on its official social media handles.
According to the studio, the 'Captain Miller' teaser crossed the one million views mark in just 45 minutes after its midnight release. Described as a period action-adventure, the movie revolves around the revolution of the LTTE activist 'Captain Miller' in the 1940s. The film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, John Kokken and Edward Sonnenblick of 'RRR' fame.
The film's first look was also released recently. Meanwhile, a day before the actor's birthday, Dhanush's 51st film was officially announced on Thursday. Helmed by director Sekhar Kammula, the film will be released in multiple languages.
Other details regarding the plot and cast have not yet been disclosed. The makers released a concept poster of #D51 ahead of Dhanush's birthday, which falls on July 28. Details regarding the plot and other actors are awaited.
