Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is leading from Diamond Harbour by over 5 lakh votes. According to the latest trends from the Election Commission of India, Banerjee has secured 681,448 votes against his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opponent Abhijit Das, who has received 176,652 votes.
Overall, the TMC has garnered 46.91% of the votes in West Bengal. The BJP follows with 37.54%, CPI(M) with 5.7%, Congress with 4.66%, AIFB with 0.23%, BSP with 0.40%, and CPI with 0.07%. In terms of seat distribution, TMC is leading in 31 seats, BJP in 10, and Congress in one.
