Dosanjh had a paranormal experience while shooting for his upcoming film ‘Chamkila’. Dosanjh, who steps into the shoes of Amar Singh Chamkila, Punjab’s most celebrated musician, revealed that he had an uncanny feeling when sequences of Chamkila’s demise were being shot.
The scenes were shot at a spot where the musician breathed his last. The ‘Good Newzz’ actor said that he could feel a presence while filming.
In an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps, Dosanjh said that he spilled blood on the same spot where the minstrel died. “I could feel Chamkila’s energy 100 percent on the set. We shot at the same place where Chamkila was killed. In the same place, Imtiaz sir shot that scene. Exactly at that point where he fell after he was shot. I was holding a tumbi in my hand during the scene, and when I fell, the tumbi wire pricked my hand. And when I was falling, I could see my hand and drops of blood falling on the ground. I suddenly realised that this is the same spot where Chamkila’s blood must have also fallen,” he told Allahbadia.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali (best known for movies such as ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Love Aajkal’, etc) ‘Chamkila’ is a cinematic adaptation of the life and times of Amar Singh Chamkila, Punjab’s biggest pop star.
Chamika and his wife were gunned down by assailants on March 8, 1988, at Mehsampur, Punjab. The duo were emerging from their vehicle to reach the venue where they were scheduled to perform when they were attacked by a gang of motorcyclists.
