According to Disney's official website, the base rate has been increased from $14.50 to $16 per person per day. Additionally, guests staying in concierge staterooms and suites will now be required to pay $27.25 per person per day, up from $23.50 previously.
These changes were implemented on January 22.
The cruise line's website states that it is customary to offer gratuities to recognise the «exceptional service» that travellers will receive «in abundance aboard the ship.» These gratuities are pre-paid and distributed among a wide range of crew members, including dining room servers and stateroom hosts.
For those who fail to pre-pay this amount, the charges will be automatically added to their onboard accounts. Passengers wishing to adjust or remove the gratuities can do so by seeking assistance from Guest Services on board.
