Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has asked the people not to use the word "India" and instead use «Bharat».
Bhagwat arrived for a three-day visit to Guwahati on Friday. Speaking at a function in Guwahati he said, “ We must stop using the word India and start using Bharat. At times we use India to make those who speak English understand.
This comes as the flow however we must stop using this.”
He added, “ Special names do not change anywhere in the world. For example the name Gopal will not change when it is said in English. We have several cities in the country whose names have been there since ages.”
The RSS chief said, “ The name of the country Bharat will remain Bharat wherever you go in the world.
In spoken and written one must say Bharat. If someone does not understand there is nothing to worry about. It is that person who needs to understand and we do not need to make him understand.
