Donald Glover on how 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' series is different from 2005 film of the same name
Donald Glover, who will be next seen in «Mr. and Mrs.
Smith» series, is deliberately steering clear of comparisons with Brad Pitt.
The actor, who is also a co-creator of the show, in an interview, said the new show is «going to be different for a lot of people.»
The eight-episode series, which will premiere in early 2024 on Amazon Prime Video, stars the «Atlanta» actor opposite Maya Erskine.
«You can always go back and watch the old one, but this one gives you a different feeling. People are definitely going to be shocked,» Glover said.
«I just know how much people love the other one. So if everybody's like, 'Eh,' we didn't do a good job.
»I hope some people are like, 'This is better than the original,' and some people are like, 'This is far worse,'" he added.
The series features Glover and «Pen15» star as a spy couple, originally played by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the 2005 film of the same name.
The reboot features a completely different plot, delving into a more intricate approach to the spy thriller genre.
In the film adaptation, the married couple discovers that they are both spies employed by rival agencies, assigned to eliminate each other.
