According to Business Insider, in a post on his social media platform named Truth Social, US President Donald Trump expressed that he would be doing Russia a ‘very big favor’ by helping to negotiate a resolution to the conflict which he described as totally ‘ridiculous’. Adding onto that, he also issued severe warnings that without a deal, he would have ‘no choice’ but to implement significant economic penalties on Russian goods sold to the US and also other countries involved.
In spite of the really strong rhetoric of US President Donald Trump, the effectiveness of such sanctions is really questionable given the already diminished trade between the US and Russia since the invasion began in the year 2022, asserted Business Insider.
