Downton Abbey 3, which is currently in production in the UK, will be released on September 12, 2025 in theaters. It was announced by Focus Features and Universal Pictures International.
Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will release Downton Abbey 3 on September 12, 2025. The film is currently being filmed in the UK with Simon Curtis directing. Curtis also directed the previous film, Downton Abbey: A New Era, which came out in 2022. Julian Fellowes, the creator of the original TV series and an Oscar winner, has written the script.

The third film in the Downton Abbey series will feature many returning cast members. Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, Douglas Reith and Dominic West will return. New additions to the cast include Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan.
