Drake's long-awaited eighth studio album, "For All The Dogs," finally hit streaming platforms at 6 am on Friday, October 6. This release marks Drake's return to solo albums, following his 2022 release, «Honestly Nevermind.»
One of the standout tracks from the album, «Slime You Out,» featuring SZA, soared to the top of the Hot 100 chart, marking Drake's twelfth No. 1 single. This achievement puts him at fifth place on the all-time list, inching closer to surpassing Michael Jackson's record of thirteen No. 1 singles by a solo male artist.
Drake kept fans on the edge of their seats with the release of «8 AM in Charlotte,» part of his «AM 2 PM» series. This six-minute video, which features his son Adonis, dropped in the early hours, sparking discussions and speculation about the lyrics and who they may be directed towards. The internet buzzed with theories involving Metro Boomin, YoungBoy NBA, Charlamagne Tha God, and Kanye West.
While the summer season was coming to a close, Drake was just getting started. «For All The Dogs» is his third album release in the last two years, following «Honestly, Nevermind» and the collaborative effort with 21 Savage, «Her Loss.» This latest album serves as a companion piece to his poetry book, «Titles Ruin Everything,» released in June.
Drake's album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Bad Bunny, J. Cole, SZA, Chief Keef, 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, Yeat, Sexyy Red, and Lil Yachty. The LP is executive produced by Drake himself, along with Noah «40» Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noel Cadastre.
