Draymond Green, the star forward for the Golden State Warriors, was ejected during Tuesday's In-Season Tournament game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green was one among three players ejected for choking Wolves standout Rudy Gobert while defending teammate Klay Thompson.
Green was ejected for the 18th time in his 12-year career (regular season and playoffs combined), the most of any active player.
Green's ejection on Tuesday, on the other hand, was notably nasty, with many clamoring for a lengthy punishment for the star forward. Many people wondered if it was Green's most violent ejection of his career.
1. Draymond Green's confrontation with Isaiah Stewart
Green was ejected late in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' regular-season game against the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 4, 2023. This was after he got into an altercation with Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart. Both players received double technical fouls. Green's second of the game, however, resulted in an automatic ejection.
The Warriors eventually fell 122-119. Green finished the game with four points, eight rebounds, and seven assists on 50% shooting.
2. Brandon Clarke was fouled hard by Draymond Green
Green was ejected late in the first half of Game 1 of Golden State's 2022 Western Conference semifinals series against the Memphis Grizzlies. This came after he grabbed Grizzlies big man Brandon Clarke's jersey in mid-air and yanked him to the ground, earning him a Flagrant 2.
Clarke may have been seriously hurt as a result of the play. Green did not even try to make a play on the ball.
