Christopher Walken takes on the role of Shaddam IV from House Corrino, the Emperor of «the Known Universe» and an influential figure. Shaddam is a somewhat dubious character who becomes envious of House Atreides' rising power. Irulan has received extensive training in the ways of the Bene Gesserit, although she never fully realizes her potential in the book.
