The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer witnessed a massive drop in collections on the sixth day of its release.
As per a report by the Indian box-office tracking portal Sacnilk.com, the comedy-drama earned only about Rs 10.25 crore on the sixth day of release.
The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, which had a slow start at the box-office (earning only about Rs 29 crore), stayed steady at the box-office for the next few days despite stiff competition from the Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar’. However, it seems to gradually be losing momentum at the box-office. The movie has collected about Rs 140.20 crore at the end of six days.
In general Khan’s movies seem to resonate a lot to overseas audiences, especially the Indian diaspora. This case also was no different.
Taking to X, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan revealed that the movie had crossed Rs 271 crore and inching toward an impressive Rs 300 crore mark at the global box-office.
The comedy-drama marks the first collaboration between two Bollywood heavyweights, Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan. It deals with the subject of illegal immigration. The story revolves around a group of friends from a remote village in Punjab, who end up taking a perilous journey to England through ‘donkey routes’, a way to gain unauthorised entry to first-world countries.
Aside from Khan, the movie also Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza and Boman Irani.
