S&P Global releases October business-activity surveys from around the world. The data firm’s U.S. composite purchasing managers index—which measures activity in both the manufacturing and services sectors—indicated that the U.S. economy contracted at a slower pace in September compared with the prior month.
S&P Global releases its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller National Home Price Index, which will show home-price trends across the country in August. The index showed that U.S. home prices fell 0.3% in July from June, the first month-over-month decline since January 2019.
