With Fadnavis back at the helm and Shinde assuming the deputy CM position alongside Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar, lobbying for ministerial positions among Shiv Sena’s 57 MLAs has begun in earnest.
The Shiv Sena, which had 40 MLAs when it formed the Mahayuti government in 2022, is now the second-largest party in the alliance, buoyed by its gains in the recent assembly elections.
