BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has emerged victorious in the Maharashtra Assembly elections with an overwhelming mandate. As of 12:30 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 125 seats, while its allies, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), were ahead in 55 and 37 constituencies, respectively. In contrast, the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered significant setbacks, with Congress leading in 19 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) in 20, and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP(SP) in 13. Smaller parties and independents collectively led in 20 seats.

This election saw the BJP contesting 149 seats, Shinde’s Shiv Sena 81, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction 59. On the Opposition side, Congress fielded candidates in 101 constituencies, Shiv Sena (UBT) in 95, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP(SP) in 86. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) contested 237 and 17 seats, respectively.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude for the alliance’s decisive win, calling it “a landslide” and “unprecedented.” He remarked, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the voters and congratulate them for giving us a resounding majority. This is a thumping majority. I thank my beloved sisters, brothers, farmers, and elders who voted for us. They have recognised the development we have delivered over the past two and a half years.”
