The S&P BSE Utilities index rallied 20% and hit a fresh lifetime high of 4825.36 points during the month, whereas S&P BSE Power index surged more than 18% and scaled a fresh lifetime high of 5869.23 points.
Of the 25 constituents that are part of the BSE Utilities index, 16 of them clocked double-digit returns of upto 55% in December, data by Ace Equity showed. Around 15 of the stocks scaled fresh lifetime highs during the month.
