International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8, crypto exchange BuyUcoin released a report highlighting increasing participation from female investors on its exchange. The homegrown crypto player has more than 1.2 million registered crypto investors on its platform, of which every third investor is a woman. Women users have seen a growth of 130 per cent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis with an average ticket size of up to Rs 18,000-19,000, revealed a study by the platform.

View Details »The age group of 18-35 dominates the female user base, with about every three out of five women users coming from this age bracket. More precise bifurcation suggests that women between 25-34 years of age constitute little more than 40 per cent of the segment users. Meanwhile, women between 35-44 years of age hold over 30 per cent of the female users. This signals that millennial women are inclined more towards crypto trading, with Gen Z investors following them. Women above 45 years of age hold about 12.6 per cent share with them. Among geographical demographics, women from Karnataka constitute more than 30 per cent of women users, followed by Maharashtra with 12 per cent. Delhi contributes about 10 per cent of the women users. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are next in line with 8 per cent female users each on the platform. According to the data provided by BuyUcoin, female entrepreneurs and professionals including CAs, financial advisors, doctors, teachers, lawyers and engineers are among the female registered users.
