Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday extended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand of BRS MLC K Kavitha till March 26 in the Delhi Excise Policy case. She was produced in the court as her custody ended today.
During the hearing, the federal agency's counsel said that it has statements of four people, forensic science report of her mobile confronted with the accused.
The ED was seeking a further 5-day remand of K Kavitha. It informed the Court that searches are underway at her nephew Mekha Saran's residence.
The BRS leader, who is also the daughter of former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, alleged that her arrest is illegal, adding that she is going to fight it out in court.
«This is an illegal arrest. We are going to fight it out in court. It is a political case, a fabricated case, a false case. We are fighting it out. There is nothing new, they are asking the same things again and again,» Kavitha told reporters.
«Why so many arrest during election time. political arrest. ECI should intervene,» she added after the verdict was read out.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had denied bail to BRS leader K Kavitha and issued a notice on plea challenging her arrest in money laundering case relating to Delhi excise policy irregularities matter.
Following this, Kavitha filed a bail pea in the trial court.
The top court said, «BRS leader K Kavitha can move trial court or invoke any other remedy for grant of bail and bail application, if any filed, be decided expeditiously.»
