BJP has decided to take care of pilgrims reaching Ayodhya for two months, starting January 25. The decision was taken at a meeting of senior BJP leaders in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh, BJP general secretaries Tarun Chug, Sunil Bansal and Vinod Tawde, UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and state BJP general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh were present at the meeting.
BJP state units have been inviting people to visit Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
A tracking system has been developed to monitor all the pilgrims throughout their journey.
«The Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP will take care of the pilgrims visiting Ayodhya. Our party cadres and leaders will be in the city to take care of all the needs of the pilgrims for two months starting January 25,» Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary told ET.
The party cadre will be present at the airport, railway station and bus stations to greet pilgrims and from there arrangements will be made for their stay, food and darshan.
The cadre will be assisted by data provided by the party central and state units on the number of pilgrims and their details.
Chug appealed to Opposition parties to join the January 22 event. «It's more than historic.
A grand Ram temple is being constructed after waiting for 400 years. Ram Lalla is getting an abode through the constant efforts of Prime Minister Modi,» Chug told ET.
«Whatever may be the opinion or differences, everyone should join in this herculean effort. There shouldn't be any politics in this.»
His statement came after Congress refused to accept the invitation to attend the ceremony.
