Netflix has unveiled the ensemble cast for the upcoming installment of the “Fear Street” series, titled “Prom Queen.”
Cast
India Fowler (“The Nevers”, “Insomnia”), David Iacono (“The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “Cinnamon”), Ella Rubin (“The Idea of You”), Chris Klein (“Sweet Magnolias,” “American Pie”) will star, alongside Lili Taylor (“Outer Range,” “Manhunt”), Suzanna Son (“Red Rocket,” “The Idol”), Fina Strazza (“Paper Girls,” “Above the Shadows”) and Katherine Waterston (“The End We Start From,” “Perry Mason”).
Storyline
Based on R.L. Stine’s 1992 novel, the film revolves around Shadyside High's prom season, where the school's popular girls vie for the crown. However, when an outsider is nominated and girls start disappearing, the class of ’88 faces a terrifying prom night.
Production Yvonne Bernard, Joan Waricha and Jane Stine are executive producers, with Caroline Pitofsky overseeing for Chernin Entertainment. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson will produce for Chernin Entertainment.
Announcement
In January, Stine shared the news of the new film on Twitter, stating, “Movie News: I can finally announce that a new ‘Fear Street’ movie is about to go into production for Netflix,” based on his book, ‘The Prom Queen.’
Previous Installments
This marks the fourth “Fear Street” film on Netflix, following the 2021 trilogy directed by Leigh Janiak — “Fear Street Part One: 1994,” “Fear Street Part Two: 1978” and “Fear Street Part Three: 1666.”
