Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond President Thomas Barkin said on Thursday Fed rate rises have slowed the housing sector.
When it comes to Fed policy actions, «I do believe that's lowered demand,» the official said in remarks given before the Money Marketeers of New York University. But he added a shift to work from home arrangements was helping to underpin the housing market, even as mortgage rates have moved much higher.
