FEMA faces a funding shortage for Hurricane Helene
FEMA) does not have the funds to see Americans through the remainder of this Atlantic hurricane season.
While seeing the damage caused by Hurricane Helene in South and North Carolina, Mayorkas stated during a press conference aboard Air Force One that they are meeting the immediate needs with their money.
They anticipate another hurricane making landfall; unfortunately, they lack the necessary funds. The money FEMA needs to survive the season and what's coming up next needs to be improved.
The fact that the Department of Homeland Security has allotted $640.9 million in FEMA-managed money this year to assist state and local governments in managing the surge of asylum seekers has been brought up by critics.
